Outreach
ODEN at Penn works with regional and national organizations to support enhanced organizational competencies for their communities. These relationships provide a rich network and broader access to resources for participants in ODEN at Penn and its affiliate members. Workshop sponsorship, joint programming, curriculum development, and promotion of professionalism are some of the activities pursued through non-degree seminars, workshops, and other continuing education programs throughout the region. Organizations may request ODEN to create programs for them - programs that reflect the themes taught in the Degree Programs such as Organizational Consulting and Coaching; Global Studies; Projects, Programs, and Portfolios Management; Leadership Management; and Practitioner of Change and Development.
For example, ODEN has a collaborative partnership with the ESOP Association and ESOP Ownership Foundation to provide scholarship and education about employee ownership in the workplace. This contributed to the Louis Kelso Fellowship won in 2010 by Professor Steve Freeman. This collaboration has also led to a series of workshops for CEOs/Presidents and/or the CEO/President designee, of ESOP companies - Leading in an Ownership Setting: The Program for CEOs – scheduled in 2011.
