| "I use the knowledge gained in the program every day in teaching, maintaining, and developing the program that I direct." ~ Daniel A. Benau, PH.D., MSOD ~ Director of Biomedical Writing, University of the Sciences, Philadelphia |
|

Your academic background is different from many of our other students. Can you tell us a little about it and why you decided to apply to Organizational dynamics?
Sure. I received my Ph.D. in Biology from Boston University in 1984. From 1984-1990 I was here at the University of Pennsylvania doing postdoctoral work, and I took a position as a Medical Writer. In 2005 I became an Associate Professor of Biomedical Writing at the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia and I’m currently serving as the Director of Biomedical Writing Programs there. I decided to apply to Organizational Dynamics because I already had a science background and was interested in the study of organizational learning and change.
What effect has the Program had on you so far?
Well, the courses that I took in Systems Thinking and Organizational Learning had a profound effect on the way that I view organizations and work within them. I use the knowledge gained in the program every day in teaching, maintaining, and developing the Biomedical Writing program.
