"I think this is a great program. The value you get often depends on the value you give but it can provide meaningful, effective, and useful tools for addressing organizations, change and human behavior in any endeavor." ~ Madelaine Sayko - MSOD candidate

Madelaine Sayko is Director of Operations for an educational provider of continuing medical education programs and a student in the Master of Science in Organizational Dynamics program. She is focusing on coursework that blends Global, P3, and Leadership/Management studies.

Can you tell us a little bit about your background?
I have 25 years of managing organizational change with an emphasis on healthcare and specifically in technology implementation. I have also provided organizational process improvement and cross-functional team collaboration in a variety of settings, most recently in the education and development of brain injury services for the Commonwealth. In my spare time I am an active triathlete and a mentor to other new triathletes.

Why did you to apply to Organizational Dynamics?
I have witnessed several kinds of processes in my various positions over the years. I made the decision to come to Organizational Dynamics because I wanted to gain a deeper level of understanding and acquire more formal problem solving skills in order to be more effective at work.

Was there a particularly meaningful moment in the program that has left an impression upon you?
It was an experiential class where I witnessed how certain group behaviors can inhibit the accomplishment of a given task. It was group behavior theory in action.

How has the Program impacted your personal and/or professional life?
I've broadened my understanding of human organizational behavior. It is not only the theoretical understanding, though, but practical knowledge too. Even beyond that is the insight I've gained into all forms of group and interpersonal behaviors including a deeper level of insight into myself.
