BiographyFrom the Center for Applied Research website biography: "Larry earned his Ph.D. in Economics at MIT. He is driven to make sense of complexity, to comprehend the dynamics of complex situations. He exercises this skill in the abstract through his study of economics, psychology and mathematics. For a man so intrigued with complexity, Larry's approach is surprisingly grounded and practical. He asks the simple question, "What's going on here?" He arrives at the answer by contemplating and calculating as many of the interrelationships as he can encompass including quantitative financial and industry data, operational realities of the enterprise, the organization's culture, and the psychodynamics of the leadership team. "Larry is a prolific writer, with four books and almost 200 articles to his credit. He says he "writes to understand," but even here his approach is grounded, his ideas and theories growing out of the particulars of actual cases and business situations."
