Dr. Arthur M. Freedman, Biographical Sketch
Arthur M. Freedman, MBA, Ph.D. is an Organization Development and Change scholar-practitioner and consulting organizational psychologist. He is a Master Action Learning Coach and Board Member in the World Institute of Action Learning. He has consulted throughout the world to public and private sector organizations. He is an adjunct Professor in the MBA in OD Program in the Carey Business School at Johns Hopkins University. He received the 1994 RHR International Award for Excellence in Consulting Psychology and the 2007 Harry and Miriam Levinson Award for Exceptional Contributions to Organizational Consulting Psychology. He has spoken at more than 100 conferences and has over 100 publications. He was given the Elliott Jacques Award for most outstanding article of 1997 (i.e., “Pathways and Crossroads to Institutional Leadership” in the Consulting Psychology Journal). His recent publications include: Action Learning for Developing Leaders and Organizations, co-authored with Michael Marquardt, Skipton Leonard, and Cori Hill (2009, American Psychological Association); Consulting Psychology: Selected Papers of Harry Levinson, co-edited with Ken Bradt (2008, American Psychological Association); “Swimming Upstream: The Challenge of Managing Promotions” (2005) in Filling the Leadership Pipeline; “Action Research: Origins and Applications for OD&C Practitioners” (2006) in The NTL Handbook of 0rganization Development and Change; and “The Role of Psychologists in the U.S. Intelligence Community,” (2008) in the Consulting Psychology Journal.
