Organizational Consulting and Executive Coaching Concentration

Additional Resources
Program Overview

The Organizational Consulting & Executive Coaching concentration offers an innovative course of study that dramatically differentiates it from other currently existing organizational consulting and coaching programs. It combines theoretical, experiential and practical knowledge, systematically integrated over eighteen months, with each module building on the content and experience of the previous one. Meeting, on average, one weekend a month, participants have the benefit of carefully crafted course work in which continuity of both intellectual content and experience is valued. In addition, there is the opportunity to engage in challenging fieldwork from the outset, eventually leading to meaningful practicum and internship experiences. Working closely with other cohort members, cooperative learning, feedback and collaborative projects immerse participants in the fundamentals of coaching from the beginning of their graduate studies. More specifically, the advantages of cohort education in our professional coaching curriculum are powerful.

The Compelling Nature of Cohort Education

  1. The cohort will be comprised of a group of 10-15 highly diverse but like-minded participants committed to common goals and professional excellence.
  2. Course work is designed to promote integrated learning with the continuity of intellectual content and applied experiences over time.
  3. A small core of faculty is committed to the goals of the program; they work as a team to insure the effective blending of task and process aspects of learning.
  4. Similarly, the faculty is able to understand and support participants in relation to their own special interests and particular needs.
  5. From the initial Group Intensive offsite experience, participants find themselves being thrust into the demands of a collective in which cooperation, teamwork and support are valued. The challenges of such intense learning help us focus on participant strengths and areas of needed growth not found in any textbook.
  6. Our participants have the opportunity to organize their work and family lives in relation to a focused, well-defined and predictable educational program.
